Have any of you been to this website? Maybe a missed a thread about it somewhere along the way. Anyway it gives a little biography of each singer associated with the Dubliners in some way. Liam, Bobby, Tommy are there. Also Luke Kelly ,Christy Moore and several others. It is really neat. Did you know that Liam bought the oldest pub in Waterford?

Joanne,
Most recently I have been ga-ga over Google and long ignored treasures of CB&TM, The Dubliners and Plaxty.
My EDP skills are such that if it happens to come up, I listen and look.
Today however something marvelous and wonderful/terrifying happened.
Several headings of threads took me to a piece U2, (Bono doing most of the singing with cienaid O'Connor and Shane Mc Gowan) to the sacred memory of Ronnie Drew, simply titled "Tribute to Ronnie Drew". It was not that that amazed me, but the face of the man sitting next to the MC.
He was bald, and clean shaven and had the face of a cherub. In fact j
he reminded me of the late Derek Bell.
After the song, the MC and this fellow continued conversing, and the MC referred to a song of Ronnie's that could still raise the hairs on the back of his neck- "The Old Triangle". Oddly enough the bald chap launched into singing it. And that was the "terrifying" part of this discourse: IT WAS RONNIE!!! , and yes, he sang the song so it could still raise the hair on the back of my neck!
"So here's to you Ronnie Drew, here's to you!"

I must confess, that I was always so busy listening to Luke Kelly that I didn't pay attention to Ron Drew. Today I listened to several of his songs on you tube and really liked him. I didn't realise that he started the Dubliners. I must admit tho, that I still get the chills when I hear Luke sing The Night Visiter Song. To think that it was the last song he sang before he died: "I must away now", I have no time to tarry... I must be guided to the one I love the most.

Joanne,
"good on ya Luke! "
Thank you for that revelation. Maybe God was listening too, and thought, "My! I like that voice! I think I'll invite him up for a couple of gargles o' Guiness n invite him on up.
The Craig will indeed ninety PLUS!"
A most touching thought, m'am! Thank you very much.
