12 years ago, i traded photocopies of concert programs via snail mail. One of the copies I got back was the concert booklet with the aran sweater on the front cover. Through the years, this has been one of my top 2 or 3 items I was looking for for my collection. I finally found it online for 9.99 plus shipping. Stories like this, specifically about collecting CBTM material, really make me feel good. I wonder if any of you have a story about the hunt for an elusive piece of CBTM history?

Although I don't collect paper copies of items, I have run across a thing or two, while websurfing. Here are a couple interesting ones...small windows into days gone by.

Thanks for the pictures. I love the theater program. There must have been some kind of misprint, because it shows Tommy being succeeded in his priest role by someone named Mary Fogarty!

Actually, it says Tommy succeeded Malachy McCourt as "Father Kirwan," and Mary Fogarty succeeded Beulah Garrick as "Miss Jemima Cooney." Each number is the replacement note for a separate role.
All the best!

Hi Pat. I tried those links and they didn't get me anywhere. I presume the play in question is 'Shadow and Substance'? It's one of my great regrets that I never saw Liam or Tommy acting in a play; there was a lot of acting in their act, if you get me. |

Those aren't links, Gerry. We can't post links on this board, for some reason. They're URLs (web addresses). You have to cut and paste each one into your browser's address window then hit return, to see the page.
And yes, it's "Shadow," from 1959. They're both so young they're still in short pants.
All the best...
